1. Skin irritation: if you have sensitive skin you might find certain colours irritate your skin. You maybe allergic to certain compounds in the colour. it is therefore necessary to protect your skin with a coat of almond oil. This helps form a barrier against the colour getting to your skin and also makes it easier to wash off the colour afterwards

  2. Sensitive scalp: the chemicals in the colours can cause itching and irritation in the scalp and make the hair dry and frizzy. It might be a good idea to use coconut oil or olive oil in your scalp also to protect it from the chemicals in the colours and to prevent dryness and frizziness

  3. Nails: Nails get stained with colours and some of the types of colours used can be toxic. You may paint nail varnish on your nails and use a cuticle cream befpre stepping out to play with colours

  4. Lips: Lips can chap and get stained too so use a lip balm

  5. Tan: Playing with colours outside in the hot sun will tan you and if you are playing with liquid colours you may want want to use a water proof broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or more. Taking an oral sunscreen tablet will give you additional protection

  6. Eyes: use sunglasses or water goggles to protect your eyes as the colours getting into your eyes can cause redness and irritation.
